Debug mode (Japanese version):
Select Goodies from the main menu, hold L1, L2, R1, or R2 and press Select. Now four numbers will appear in the lower right corner of the screen. The shift buttons must be held in combinations to enter a hexadecimal number in the debug value. Pressing Select accepts that number. R1 = 1, R2 = 2, L1 = 4, L2 = 8. Thus, to enter a debug value of 6, press R2 + L1.

Ghost races:
When selecting any memory card option, hold R1. Now you will be able to watch or race against the Sony team's best runs.

MTGP Tip:
To get the record easily in the first track use Raptor Raptor. Near the begining of the race you will enter a turn with three arches before it. There will be big, steep cliffs on either side. Turn a sharp left when you come out of the turn (when the cliffs end.) There will be a rising in the grass covered hills to the left. Go up it and you will launch off the grass and over some water. When you land on the other side of the water go back on the road. Follow it for a couple seconds. When you see a yellow path between some houses go up it. Follow the path straught until you come to a cliff. Launch of it and you will land on the road again before the big tunnel at the end if you do it right.

Quick acceleration:
While accelerating, hold the reverse button to push any racer to top speed in approximately one second.

Quick start:
When the yellow light turns on, press X to get a fast acceleration off the starting line. Note: This does not work in "GP mode".
