Wait until you have a switch-hitter at bat then in the middle of the bat (usually 3-5 seconds depending on the pitcher) press 'Back' before the pitch is thrown and the player will switch sides. If you have timed it correctly and as long as the ball is hit out of the infield you can advance the runner to home and the outfielders will not react to the ball.
